Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone TV Land Comedy ‘Nobodies’ Lands Early Season 2 Order
TV Land has ordered a second season of the Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone-produced comedy series “Nobodies” two months ahead of the Season 1 premiere, the network announced Friday at the Television Critics Association press tour.
“Nobodies” stars and is executive produced and written by The Groundlings alums Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras. The comedy revolves around the three as they try desperately to land one of their famous friends for a feature script that they’ve developed, so that they, too, can rise to fame in Hollywood.
The series is executive produced by McCarthy and Falcone with Michael McDonald serving as executive producer, director and showrunner. Season 2 will premiere in 2018. Jason Bateman, Maya Rudolph, Jim Rash and Nat Faxon will also guest star in the pilot.
“Picking up ‘Nobodies’ for season two was a no-brainer when all these extremely talented people are behind it,” said Keith Cox, president of development and production for TV Land. “It’s a bold, quirky, hilarious look at what happens when you will do or say anything to succeed in Hollywood.”
Davidson, Dorf and Ramras are partnering with their real-life friends, Emmy-winner McCarthy and her husband Falcone, who will be executive producing “Nobodies” through their production company, On The Day. Falcone is directing and guest-starring in the pilot episode. JAX Media’s Tony Hernandez will executive produce for TV Land.
